London-based indie prodco Raw TV has made a number of management moves, including a promotion for head of production Piers Vellacott (pictured) to managing director, and hiring a former RDF exec as head of U.S. development.
Vellacott had been the Gold Rush prodco’s head of production since 2008. He takes on his new title as MD immediately, and will work alongside CEO and founder Dimitri Doganis and creative director Bart Layton.
Vellacott has also held roles at Darlow Smithson, 3BM, Ten Alps Drama and Oxford Film and TV.
Adam Hawkins has been hired to take a lead role on all U.S. development. He was most recently the head of development for RDF West, where he was responsible for developing and securing commissions such as Secrets of The Shoplifters for Channel 4 and Emergency Bikers for Channel Five. He will work alongside Raw’s head of development Tim Wardle.
“Adam is a very creative and well respected development executive, and his track record to date is testament to that,” said Layton. “We have a number of exciting opportunities right now in the U.S. and internationally that we see Adam playing a key role in developing.”
The company has also hired Jane Gant as head of finance, where she will work closely with Vellacott. She was previously the financial controller at Darlow Smithson.
