Back Roads bringing “My Flipp’n Brother” to A&E

Back Roads Entertainment, the prodco formed by former Leftfield Pictures principal Colby Gaines, will premiere its first show, My Flipp’n Brother, on U.S. cable net A&E this weekend.

The pilot for the series, featuring home renovators/flippers and brothers Randy and Ronnie Florke, airs this Saturday, December 8, at 1 p.m. EST.

In My Flipp’n Brother, the team of brothers, along with their friend, interior designer Jesse Escue, work together despite their different personalities to purchase, renovate and sell homes in upstate New York.

A&E’s executive producer for the series is Jessica Morgan.

Gaines, co-founder of Leftfield Pictures with Brent Montgomery, officially launched Back Roads Entertainment in December of 2011.

Not that stupid

This is the fakest show. The contractor brother supposedly hits a water main while digging with an excavator in up-state New York. They said it cost over $4k to fix. The problem is the pipe was less than 18″ deep. It’s was probably an irrigation line and it cost less than a $100 to fix. He hits it with the first scoop of the excavator. So staged. Really there is plenty of drama in construction projects without making up totally fake issues. The fake fighting between the cast is terrible. . These guys aren’t actors and it shows. The designer brother is a wannabe Jeff Lewis. The show insults the viewer’s intelligence.

This show is too staged, too fake. It would be much better if it concentrated on Randy’s tricks for fixing up houses, how he chooses them, instead of trying to create another ‘arguing’ show i.e. ‘housewives’, ‘bridezilla’ ‘dance moms’ etc. It kind of insults the viewers intelligence IMHO. I Love the area, that’s why I watched it.

A water main in Youngville that took 4k to fix? Give me a break! Stop the yelling and the fake drama and give us more of how housing is chosen, design elements, etc. I think this show could be really good if it focused more on the how’s and whys, and less on drama.

First A&E gave us Hillbilly house flipping with russell sands and now we get this rubbish? I’m not even sure what to call this one, maybe house flipping for Peacocks….?

Broadly conceived. Broadly played. Formulaic with the self-imposed deadlines. Set up
scenes. Didn’t the film crew see the comic relief character before the wall fell? Don’t think anyone came across very well. That said if they went to the fundamentals,longer shots of before and after and less of the fake wrestling hype/rationalize to camera stuff, it has potential. One would think an experienced home flipper would be more problem solver and less emotional. If this is a real business this show may not be the best advertisement for it.

I’m watching this show right now what can i say. WOW but i guess when you don’t want to spend money on reality this is what you get. The bad acting and bad construction would have me running in the opposite direction. i have a novel idea A&E spend the money and do something real. PU.

My Flippin Brothers is worse than Flipping Vegas. watched it Saturday Feb 16 and will never watch it again.

Do NOT watch this horrible show !!!! I did. Never again. I love HGTV and other shows about real estate. This ” show” is so phoney, the two brothers and the gay fellow who I guess is.. a designer ( ??) are all terrible. They do not appear to do good work. They do not act like businessmen. They all belong on an INTERVENTION show. This was so painful and disgusting to watch. I think the station owes ME for my time. CANCEL, CANCEL, CANCEL AND GET SOME OTHER PROFESSIONALS. THESE GUYS ARE NOT PROFESSIONALS. I WILL NEVER WATCH THIS OR THE OTHER STINKING FLIPPIN VEGAS AGAIN. GET IT TOGETHER FOLKS.
