Food Network UK has greenlit Red, Hot and Yummy, an 8 x 30-minute series starring chef Nichola Smith, for its 2013 programming slate.

The observational documentary series will showcase the world of high-end catering through the eyes of Smith, and will mark the first television project for the British caterer.

It is tentatively scheduled to premiere in March 2013, with production already underway from UK indie Sharp Jack Media.

“Our newest commission will allow us to once again break a new local food talent into the television market,” said Nick Thorogood, senior VP of content and marketing for Scripps EMEA, who added that the show would be “a great complement to our growing original production lineup which includes the likes of Andy Bates Street Feasts, Jenny Morris Cooks Morocco, Reza, Spice Prince of India, and the recently announced Jonathan Phang’s Caribbean Cookbook.”

Smith is the founder of London-based catering company Healthy Yummies. The exec producers on the show are Amanda Wilson and Elliot Johnson. Caroline Allward will serve as producer and director.
