U.S. cable network HGTV is adding to its real estate programming with Power Broker, a series from Johlt Productions.

Starring real estate agent Mike Aubrey (House Hunters, Real Estate Intervention), the eight-part series focuses on how buyers can maximize their budgets and get the best deal on buying a home. The show is currently in production and set to premiere in 2013.

Viewers will see Aubrey taking clients on tours, showing them what to look for, as well as negotiation strategy and a play-by-play of a good deal. Contractor/designer Juan Barbieri (The Bachelorette) will also feature in Power Broker to show how to transform fixer-uppers into great final products.

“Like Property Virgins featuring Egypt Sherrod, Power Broker will enhance HGTV’s real estate programming portfolio by offering viewers a commanding, knowledgeable character who can help them navigate the changing housing market,” said Kathleen Finch, general manager of HGTV and DIY Network.

“With the bonus of a great remodeling and decorating story, Power Broker also will appeal to a broader audience who enjoys the behind-the-scenes drama associated with renovation and design.”
