Peace Point Rights acquires UFC doc

Toronto-based Peace Point Rights has picked up global rights to The DNA of GSP, a feature documentary about Ultimate Fighting Champion’s reigning welterweight world champ Georges St-Pierre (aka GSP, pictured above).
Currently in production, the film is a co-venture between Jimmy Lee Inc., Triplex Films and Upside Up Media Group, and is being co-directed by Peter Svatek and Kristian Manchester, the executive creative director and partner of ad agency Sid Lee.
The DNA of GSP is billed as an “all-access” exploration of St-Pierre’s life, career and approach to the sport, which combines mixed martial arts, boxing, wrestling and kickboxing. “It’s a privilege to work with Georges, his team and the UFC,” executive producer Bruno Ménard said in a statement. “Our intimate access will ensure an emotional and triumphant story.”
Peace Point’s deal for the film excludes Canadian and American TV rights. Sales of the documentary will begin at NATPE in Miami later this month.
