ITV Studios America has entered into a first look development deal with California-based Bishop-Lyons Entertainment.

Bishop-Lyons was set up by CEO Andrew Bishop and president David Lyons in 2010, and has previously developed, produced and partnered with companies including Fox Television Studios, Left/Right and Triage.

Bruce Robertson, senior VP of creative strategy for ITV Studios America, said: “Bishop-Lyons Entertainment is a fantastic fit for ITV Studios America as we continue to expand our ever-growing and diverse development portfolio.

In a joint statement, Bishop and Lyons added: “We feel fortunate to kick off 2013 in partnership with one of the most creative and dynamic companies in the business, ITV Studios America.

“We look forward to collaborating and producing with them for years to come.”

The news comes after ITV Studio’s parent company, UK terrestrial broadcaster ITV, last month penned a deal to acquire a 61.5% controlling stake in Gurney Productions, the American indie behind Duck Dynasty and Auction Hunters, for US$40 million.
