ITV Studios Global Entertainment has sold Wild Things with Dominic Monaghan to Discovery Networks Europe, to air on its Animal Planet channel across Europe.

The Cream Productions and Wildfire Television coproduction, which was produced for OLN in Canada, BBC America, and Channel 5 in the UK, will first broadcast on February 7 on Animal Planet Nordics, followed by Animal Planet Russia and Romania later that month.

The 8 x 60-minute travel-adventure series follows the Lord of the Rings/Lost actor as he journeys to Vietnam, Ecuador, Namibia and other locales, to find rare insects, such as army ants and giant venomous centipedes.

“From the rainforests of Ecuador to arid deserts of Namibia, Wild Things With Dominic Monaghan is a travel adventure series which combines fascinating information about some of the rarest creepy crawlies in the world with a presenter whose passion for wild things is compellingly infectious,” said Paul Welling, SVP channels, Discovery Networks Central & Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa.
