Producers with projects suited for Asian broadcasters or international coproduction have until February 11 to submit their projects to be considered for the pitching session at the Asian Side of the Doc, taking place from March 19-23 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

One-offs, series, mini-series or transmedia projects will be considered, as long as they feature strong topics or real stories involving two continents, including Asia; and explore such themes as exploration, civilization, discovery, nature, archeology, science, history, economy, and culture.

The pitching session is open to all registered delegates of the event. Projects submitted must be in an advanced stage of development and have a trailer, as well as confirmed participation of at least one partner and funding secured for at least 50% of the budget.

Asian Side of the Doc, FINAS and Crossing Borders will also host another pitching event prior to the opening of the conference, the first National Malaysia Documentary Pitching Forum. This forum is geared towards Malaysian producers, and those selected will be trained by Crossing Borders to pitch local doc projects to an audience of international commissioning editors. Selected producers will go on to pitch their projects on behalf of Malaysia at Asian Side of the Doc.
