Endemol has tapped Fotini Paraskakis, formerly the director of content for FremantleMedia Asia, as its managing director of Asian operations.

Paraskakis will be responsible for Endemol’s creative, production and format sales activities across Asia, including the company’s joint venture with Astro in Malaysia.

She will report to Arjen van Mierlo, CEO of Asian operations, who will increasingly focus on exploring further expansion in the region.

At FremantleMedia Asia, Paraskakis managed creative, production and content for all of the company’s formats in the region, including Idols, Got Talent and X Factor, and also created the first ever live Asian Idol.

Prior to that, she produced and managed projects for networks across Asia and the UK, including Star TV, Channel 4, BBC, MTV, Disney and ESPN. She began her career in television at BBC Drama in the UK.

“Having someone of Fotini’s calibre helping to lead our business in Asia places us in a strong position to pursue further growth here,” said Arjen van Mierlo. “She has an extraordinary wealth of experience and will be a valuable asset to our operations across the region.”
