Super-indie Argonon has hired on Laura Bessell-Martin to lead the company’s acquisition and development strategy, as chief operating officer.

She will bring her experience from Shed Media Group, where she was involved in the acquisition of Outright Distribution, Ricochet, Twenty Twenty and Wall to Wall, to Argonon, which recently launched a new factual prodco, BriteSpark Films.

Bessell-Martin has also served as a business analyst at BSkyB, and most recently, as finance director at Citigate Dewe Rogerson.

She will report to group CEO James Burstall, and work with all key heads across the group, as well as TCB Media Rights’ Paul Heaney, who is supporting Argonon’s international growth strategy; and Accelerate co-founder Kate Burns, who is working on Argonon’s digital growth plans.

“Laura’s extensive experience in both international markets and the M&A arena will be invaluable as we move forward with our acquisition strategy and development of IP across the group,” said Burstall.
