Norway, Hungary invest in “The Audience”

ITV Studios Global Entertainment has signed format deals for The Audience with TV3 in Norway and Viasat 3 in Hungary.

ITV Studios Nordic will produce eight 45-minute episodes of The Audience in Norway, while Paprika Latino will produce six hour-long episodes in Hungary.

This is the latest deal for the format, following the launch in Denmark on DR1, produced by Blu. Other versions include France’s TF1, Netherland’s RTL4 and the upcoming Canadian version on the W Network.

In each episode of the format, created by UK indie The Garden, a person about to make a life-changing decision consults “The Audience” – 50 people of different ages and backgrounds – who follow that person for a week, meet friends, family and colleagues, and help solve the dilemma. The format was originally commissioned by terrestrial broadcaster Channel 4 in the UK (pictured above).

The Audience is represented internationally by ITVS GE as part of its first-look deal with The Garden.
