Insurance fraud is a huge problem in many corners of the world, and in the UK, it’s considered a growing epidemic. In this series for BBC1, an elite team of insurance investigators tackles one suspected fraud case per episode. And while that might look somewhat dry on paper, interviews with experts and key players, combined with footage of the fraudsters in action and the sheer audacity of some of the attempted frauds, as seen via surveillance footage, make a case for compelling crime TV.

Barry Walsh is editor and content director for realscreen, and has served as editor of the publication since 2009.
