Lauren Greenfield’s Sundance Film Festival-winning doc The Queen of Versailles will make its television debut April 29 on U.S. cable net Bravo.
The film’s Bravo bow was previously announced last year. At the time, it was billed as the opening film of a documentary strand that the network would be launching.
The television premiere of the doc tells the story of time-share billionaires Jackie and David Siegel who embark on the construction on what would be the largest home in America, but their plans are put on hold when the economy collapses.
The 2012 Sundance Film Festival awarded Greenfield with the best director prize, and the Directors Guild of America nominated the doc for outstanding directorial achievement.
The Queen of Versailles is an Evergreen Pictures production. The Bravo deal was negotiated on behalf of the filmmakers by Josh Braun of Submarine.
