ITV Studios Global Entertainment has sold the Four Weddings format into three territories, with ITV Studios Germany commissioned to produce the format for VOX.

Premiering in May, the German version of the wedding format will be known as 4 Hochzeiten und eine Traumreise, and follows a 10-episode pilot series which launched on the channel in December.

Four Weddings puts four brides together as each attends the other’s wedding, and they compete to have the best overall wedding to win a prize.

ITVS GE also sold Four Weddings to Russia’s Ren TV, with Studio Pelican producing a 10 x one-hour series to air in April; and Romania’s Pro TV, which has tapped Mediavision to produce an 8 x one-hour series for TV Acasa, to air in September.

The deals, brokered by ITVS GE’s VP of EMEA South and East Jennifer Ebell, mark the first time the format has been produced in Russia and Romania.

“The combination of the universal experience of marriage with a gripping competition factor means Four Weddings has proven popular with audiences around the world,” said Mike Beale, director of international formats for ITV Studios.
