“Buckwild” star Shain Gandee found dead

Shain Gandee (pictured), part of the cast of MTV’s reality show Buckwild, has died, the network has confirmed.

The 21-year-old was found dead this morning (April 1) in a vehicle with two other individuals in Kanawha County, West Virginia, according to state officials.

In a statement, MTV said: “We are shocked and saddened by the terrible news about Shain Gandee, and those involved in this tragic incident. We are waiting for more information but at this time, our main concern is for the Gandee family and their friends.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with them. Shain had a magnetic personality, with a passion for life that touched everyone he met and we will miss him dearly.”

MTV first announced details of Buckwild in 2011, before launching the show in the U.S. in January this year. The series follows a group of young adults in the West Virginia town of Sissonville. It was renewed for a second season in February.

Buckwild is produced by Parallel Entertainment and Zoo Productions.
