Cineflix series Murder in Paradise will explore tropical vacations gone wrong when it debuts on U.S. net Investigation Discovery on April 13.

The six-part series tells stories of vacations that end with murder, and the premiere episode focuses on Julie Scully, who went missing in Athens in 1999. A private detective learns that her younger boyfriend had a suspicious past.

Other episodes will cover former boxing champ Arturo Gatti, who died at a resort in Brazil; and other vacation murders set in Tijuana, Mexico; Bimini Island in the Bahamas; Golfito, Costa Rica; and Cannes, France.

Simon Lloyd, Nick Godwin and Jacqueline Bynon serve as executive producers for Cineflix, while for Investigation Discovery, Thomas Cutler is executive producer, Sara Kozak is senior VP of production, and Kevin Bennett is general manager.

“We all like taking vacation as an opportunity to calm down and loosen up, but let Murder In Paradise┬áserve as a cautionary tale to keep your guard up as well,” said Henry Schleiff, president and general manager of Investigation Discovery. “The next time you take in some rays or sip a daiquiri, don’t let them blind you to the killer who may be in the cabana next door.”
