Former Endemol and 19 Entertainment exec Kate Shepherd (pictured) is set to oversee development of unscripted programming for Shine America.

As VP of development, she will work within the global Shine Group, as well as with third-party producers, and report to Chris Culvenor, Shine America’s senior VP of unscripted development.

She was most recently the executive producer and showrunner on The CW and BBC Worldwide Productions; ballet reality series Breaking Pointe, and also served as consulting producer on BBCWW’s Lovetown, which aired on OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network.

Previously, Shepherd held roles as senior VP of TV development for Simon Fuller’s 19 Entertainment and XIX Entertainment in both London and Los Angeles, where she developed the Spanish-language reality series Q’Viva: The Chosen for both Univision and Fox. She also worked as VP of development at Endemol, and served as co-executive producer on Celebrity Big Brother’s Little Brother, and Zodiak’s Shipwrecked: Battle of the Islands and Wife Swap.

“Kate’s extensive experience as a producer, and also as a top development executive in the unscripted field, make her the ideal addition to our growing team,” said Culvenor. “She will be working closely with our international colleagues within Shine Group and third-party producers to identify potential series to develop for the U.S. marketplace.”
