Billed as a 24/7 digital experience, Animal Planet L!VE is available now on desktop and mobile platforms on APL.TV, and select Samsung Smart TV’s on April 4. In the coming months, it will also be available on Roku and Xbox LIVE.

The streaming service is made in partnership with the Audubon Nature Institute, explore.org, National Aquarium, South Mountain Creamery and the Washington Animal Rescue League, with more cameras planned for the coming months.

Via 11 live HD cameras, viewers will be able to watch the following: ant cam, beluga cam, calf cam, chick cam, cockroach cam, kitten cam, Pacific Reef cam, penguin cam, puppy cam, sea nettles cam, and wild bird cam.

Marjorie Kaplan, president and general manager for Animal Planet, said the “overwhelming response to Puppy Bowl and our Puppy and Kitten Cams led us straight to Animal Planet L!VE.”

JB Perrette, chief digital officer for Discovery Communications, added: “Animal Planet L!VE marries the most popular Internet video category, animals, with the most powerful animal-related media brand in Animal Planet. ‘Live’ is a key way that we connect with our audiences – on air and online – and Animal Planet L!VE will feed audiences’ passion for the animal world on their computers, tablets, smartphones and connected TVs.”
