Distributor Red Arrow International has sold the format rights for culinary competition series The Taste (pictured) to Russian broadcaster REN TV.

Originally produced by┬áSanta Monica-based Kinetic Content for U.S. network ABC, the series starred Anthony Bourdain, Nigella Lawson, Ludo Lefebvre and Brian Malarkey as the celebrity chef mentors for a team of amateur and professional cooks vying for the title of America’s best tasting dish.

Execs at REN TV, one of Russia’s largest private TV networks, plan to develop a local version of The Taste as the flagship format for its primetime schedule.

International networks that have picked up the series include CTV in Canada, Fox in India, Australia’s Nine Network and M6 in France.

The Taste was created by Kinetic Content, Red Arrow Entertainment Group’s U.S. production company. The series is executive produced by Chris Coelen, Matila Zoltowski, Emma Conway, Bourdain and Lawson.
