Distributor TCB Media Rights has picked up Monkey Life and Mega Food, while also selling Animal Airport (pictured) into The Netherlands.

TCB Media has secured a deal with Primate Planet Productions for the rights to the complete seven series (134 x 30 minutes) of docusoap Monkey Life. The series, which aired on Animal Planet in Europe and Channel 5 in the UK, follows the work of Monkey World, an ape rescue center in the UK.

The Paul Heaney-owned company has also signed a representation deal with indie Steel Spyda for the 6 x 60-minutes series Mega Food. Produced for Nat Geo Asia, the show goes into the largest and busiest kitchens, including on board the A380 Airbus, and the world’s biggest cruise ship.

In addition, SBS Netherlands has acquired the first two series of Animal Airport (26 x 30-minutes) from TCB. Produced by UK indie Icon Films for Animal Planet Europe, the show goes inside the animal activity at London’s Heathrow airport, capturing the action in the terminals and the runways.

Animal Airport is a great show, combining immediate accessibility with a twist on the airport format – from cheetahs to racehorses, there’s a wealth of great stories from behind the scenes,” said Lucy Middleboe, head of commercial operations at Icon Films.
