Strauser named TLC’s head of talent and casting

U.S. cable network TLC has promoted Andrew Strauser (pictured) to vice president of talent development and casting.

While at TLC, he has cast reality talent such as Cake Boss‘ Buddy Valastro, booked celebrity wedding specials with Mario Lopez and Courtney Mazza, and developed talent for new series such as Something Borrowed, Something New.

In his new role, Strauser will continue to cast for existing series and source talent to build future shows around.

Previously, Strauser was a freelance casting director for broadcast and cable networks. His credits include Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, I Wanna Be A Soap Star, Greatest American Dog, Shaq’s Big Challenge, Queer Eye for the Straight Girl, Designed To Sell and Property Ladder.

He will report to Howard Lee, TLC’s senior VP of production and development, and will continue to be based out of Los Angeles.
