U.S. network Investigation Discovery has commissioned Obsession: Dark Desires from British producer October Films.

Cineflix Rights will distribute the series internationally as part of a first-look deal for all of October’s new programming.

The 10 episode, one-hour documentary series tells the stories of people who have been victims of obsession by a stalker. It will include victim testimonies and insight from forensic psychologists to show how people and their lives can be affected by the emotionally intense and terrifying encounters.

“We want to reflect the sheer horror of these live-changing events with gripping and moving drama-documentaries,” said October’s head of development Matt Robins, who devised and secured the deal, in a statement.

“Stalking is such an important issue and October Films will expertly profile the courage and tenacity of the victims to give viewers a visceral portrayal of survivors’ harrowing experiences,” added Investigation Discovery’s senior VP of development Jane Latman, who commissioned the series.

Jeanie Vink for ID is exec producing, with Alex Sutherland, Matt Robins and Denman Rookie as co-exec producers for October Films.
