Shine Group has sold the fact ent format Best Bakery to France’s M6 and Finland’s Nelonen Media, marking its first global format deals.

French broadcaster M6 has commissioned a version of the series, which features a national search for the nation’s top bakeries and bakers. Shine France is set to produce the format.

Shine-owned Metronome will produce a local version for Finland’s Nelonen Media.

The global deals follow the second commission from ITV for Britain’s Best Bakery, with Shine TV producing the 30 x one-hour series.

Best Bakery is a flexible format around a universally popular profession and pastime,” said Claudia Danser, managing director Shine Network. “In both Finland and France, the art of baking is hugely admired and the products diverse and delicious – hence they are brilliant countries to launch Best Bakery searches in.”
