U.S. cable network A&E has ordered Sirens Media to produce an eight-part series on stay-at-home fathers, called Modern Dads (working title).

Production is set to begin immediately on the 8 x half-hour series, with filming taking place in Austin, Texas. The show will center on four stay-at-home dads, who form a ‘guys club’ of loud, funny men, somewhat like a fraternity, except with babies to take care of 24/7.

The network promises that Modern Dads will feature the men “juggling the requirements and social expectations of being both a ‘modern man’ and ‘modern dad.’”

The executive producers for Sirens Media are Rebecca Toth Diefenbach, Valerie Haselton Drescher, Jen Mayer Kulp, Lucilla D’Agostino and Adam Paul, while the exec producers for A&E are David McKillop, Elaine Frontain Bryant, Lily Neumeyer and Evan Lerner.
