Bazalgette joins ITV Board

Sir Peter Bazalgette is to join the board of UK commercial broadcaster ITV as a non-executive director, starting next month.

Sir Peter Bazalgette is to join the board of UK commercial broadcaster ITV as a non-executive director, starting next month.

Bazalgette is currently the chair of the Arts Council and president of the Royal Television Society, and was formerly chief creative officer at Endemol.

ITV chairman Archie Norman said: “Peter has a fantastic track record of management of creativity in television and tremendous knowledge and experience of the global content business.

“His appointment is an important further step in building an ITV board capable of combining deep commercial skills with knowledge and understanding of the creative industries.”

Bazalgette is also a non-executive director of Jane Root’s indie Nutopia, and was formerly a member of Channel 4′s board.
