HGTV and DIY up Steven Lerner, Freddy James

Scripps Networks Interactive-owned cable networks HGTV and DIY Network have promoted Steven Lerner (pictured, left) and Freddy James (right).

Lerner, formerly VP of programming, will oversee programming for both nets and lead their New York City and Knoxville-based programming teams as senior VP of programming and production.

A six-year veteran of the company, his credits include Buying & Selling, Salvage Dawgs and Rehab Addict. He has also worked as an executive producer on programs for other networks such as VH1, Lifetime, FX and PBS.

James, formerly VP and website director for HGTV.com, will expand his role in content strategy development for integration, digital convergent content and co-branded opportunities as senior VP of strategic development and program integration. He also leads the program integration teams in New York and Knoxville.
