Christian Rönsch is to take up the role of general manager of acquisitions and DVD distribution company Studio Hamburg Enterprises, beginning June 1.

He will head up the joint venture, which Studio Hamburg Distribution and Marketing set up with ZDF Enterprises in January last year to acquire feature film and TV licenses to distribute on DVD and Blu-Ray.

Rönsch previously served as CEO for FilmConfect; managing director of FilmConfect Home Entertainment; and sales director at in2movies, a joint venture of Bertelsmann/Arvato and Warner Bros. He also held roles at Warner Home Video Germany and BMG Video/Universum Film.

“We are very pleased to welcome such a versatile and knowledgeable manager as Christian Rönsch. He is unquestionably our absolute ideal candidate for this important position,” said Dr. Alexander Coridass, president and CEO of ZDF Enterprises.
