Robert DeBitetto has been named the president of brand strategy and business development for A+E Networks’ newly launched A+E Studios, while Robert Sharenow, David McKillop and Dirk Hoogstra each add general manager titles to their roles at Lifetime, A&E and History, respectively.
The moves come shortly after Nancy Dubuc took up her role as A+E Networks president and CEO.
The new in-house A+E Studios will create content across all networks and platforms, which DeBitetto will oversee in addition to the cross network brand strategy.
DeBitetto was previously president and general manager of A&E and Bio channels, and oversaw A&E IndieFilms, the latter which he will continue to oversee.
McKillop will add DeBitetto’s former post of general manager to his executive vice president title for A&E, while Hoogstra has been upped to oversee History and H2. Sharenow is now the general manager and executive vice president of programming of Lifetime.
Hoogstra, McKillop and Sharenow will be responsible for strategic planning, programming and development of their respective networks. The marketing and brand development teams will now report directly to them.
As reported previously, Jana Bennett has been tapped to be the president of LMN and Bio, and joins from BBC Worldwide. In her new role, she will oversee development, strategies, marketing and brand development for the two channels under her remit.
“I have had the honor to work with Bob, David, Rob and Dirk for a many years, and am thrilled that we are continuing this journey together,” said Dubuc. “They have been a collective Tour de Force across our networks with an extraordinary track record. I am extremely pleased that we are entrusting them to take our flagship brands into the next phase of our success.”
“I am also thrilled that Bob will be overseeing A+E Studios – leading the charge for original content, working with evolving models and shaping the future of our company across all platforms,” she added. “And I couldn’t be more excited that Jana is joining A+E Networks.”
