A+E Networks UK has opened a Warsaw office and hired former Viacom exec Izabella Wiley for the newly created role of general manager for Poland.
Wiley will oversee A+E Networks’ brand portfolio within the Polish market, managing relationships with platforms and cable operators across the territory and reporting to A+E Networks UK MD Tom Davidson, effective immediately.
She will be charged with driving new business, program and communications initiatives for A+E Networks’ regional portfolio, which includes History and Crime & Investigation Network Polsat.
Before joining A+E, Wiley worked at Viacom International Media Networks as general director, managing a portfolio of 13 channels including Comedy Central, Nickelodeon and MTV in Poland.
Davidson said: “Poland is a key priority for A+E Networks and we’re excited by the future opportunities which will come from establishing our new team in Warsaw.
“Izabella will be instrumental in planning and driving strategy for growth of our portfolio of channels across Poland and delivering strong return on investment.”
Wiley added: “Last year in Poland, A+E Networks’ channels were amongst the fastest growing in the market.
“I would like to expand the scale of History and CI Polsat and offer Polish viewers engaging, first-class programming, including shows produced locally. I also believe A+E Networks has other brands in their portfolio which would interest the Polish audience.”
