Former nuvoTV VP of programming Sara Auspitz has joined GSN as executive director of current series, while the network has also unveiled the air-date for game show The Chase.

Auspitz worked at nuvoTV since 2010 and was promoted to VP of programming last month. Over the course of her career thus far she’s also served as executive director of programming at the network when it was known as Si TV, and has had stints at Endemol USA as development producer and director of programming.

In other GSN news, ITV Studios America’s quiz show The Chase, hosted by actress Brooke Burns, is set to premiere on the U.S. cable net on August 6 at 9 p.m. EST/PST.

The one-hour quiz show pits three contestants against an all-knowing opponent, called “The Beast,” whose goal is to answer more questions than their opponents and prevent them from banking their money.

On the GSN version of The Chase, based on the UK hit of the same name, the “Beast” is Mark Labbett, who starred in the original UK version.

ITV Studios America produces the one-hour series, with Bob Boden (Don’t Forget the Lyrics) serving as executive producer.
