History to premiere “Ax Men” spin-off in August

U.S. cable network History will begin airing an Ax Men spin-off series starring cast member Shelby “Swamp Man” Stanga.

Produced by Original Productions, The Legend of Shelby The Swamp Man (eight x 30 minutes) will debut on August 6 at 9 p.m. EST. The series follows the rural logger from southern Louisiana as he works odd jobs in the bayou and ventures into unfamiliar urban surrounds to buy a new houseboat after his home is wrecked by Hurricane Isaac.

Executive producers on the series for Original are Philip D. Segal, Jeff Conroy and Sarah Whalen and Michelle Niland is co-executive producer. Matt Ginsburg serves as executive producer for History.
