UKTV’s entertainment channel Watch has acquired the unscripted series Boston’s Finest from Endemol Worldwide Distribution, to begin airing in mid-August.

The deal marks the UK premiere of the series, which airs on TNT in the U.S. and is produced by Jarrett Creative Group and Donnie Wahlberg’s Donnie D. Productions.

Boston’s Finest is a 8 x 60-minute show that follows the lives of those serving in the Boston Police Department, which includes patrol officers, detectives, special task force members and members of the SWAT team. The series follows the officers both on and off the job.

The deal was brokered by UKTV acquisitions executive Emma Sparks, and Endemol Worldwide Distribution’s sales director for the UK and Eire Gisela Asimus-Minnbergh.

“Watch aspires to deliver out of the ordinary, gripping entertainment,” said the channel’s general manager Steve Hornsey. “I’m confident that this series, which offers a unique behind-the-scenes look at the often dramatic lives of Boston’s police officers, is exactly the type of content our viewers are hungry for and I’m delighted Watch fans will get to see it here first in the UK.”
