First look: Disneynature’s “Bears”

Following the success of Chimpanzee and African Cats, Disneynature has released the first trailer for its next big wildlife film, the Keith Scholey and Alastair Fothergill-directed Bears.

Following the success of Chimpanzee and African Cats, Disneynature has released the first trailer for its next big wildlife film, the Keith Scholey and Alastair Fothergill-directed Bears.

The film showcases a year in the life of two mother bears, filmed at Katmai National Park in Alaska, as they impart life lessons on their impressionable young cubs. It will be released theatrically in the U.S. by the Mouse House’s wildlife imprint on April 18, 2014, four days before Earth Day.

The directorial reunion comes after Fothergill and Scholey previously directed 2011′s African Cats, which grossed US$21.3 million worldwide, after which Fothergill teamed with Mark Linfield to direct 2012′s Chimpanzee, which grossed $29 million.
