Discovery ups Sean Boyle

U.S. net Discovery Channel has promoted Sean Boyle to VP of development, effective immediately.

U.S. net Discovery Channel has promoted Sean Boyle to VP of development, effective immediately.

Boyle, who is based in Los Angeles, has been with the network since 2011 and will continue to report to exec VP of programming and production Nancy Daniels. He was previously director of development.

Daniels said: “Sean has been behind some of the most successful new shows that we have developed and has a proven track record. I’m thrilled to continue working with him in a larger capacity.”

Since joining Discovery, Boyle has been responsible for greenlighting Fast N’ Loud and Street Outlaws. Prior to Discovery, he served as a senior director in VH1′s reality programming department
