NBC News-owned Peacock Productions has tapped respected UK TV exec Steve Anderson to head up its new international division, based out of London.

Anderson will join NBC News as MD of Peacock’s international division in October, working with Peacock president and general manager Sharon Scott.

He will be responsible for developing and executing the strategy to create original programming abroad, overseeing Peacock’s international TV production, identifying key on-air talent, and liaising with Peacock Productions in the U.S.

Anderson was previously with UK indie Mentorn Media, where he worked as exec producer of pubcaster BBC1′s flagship political program Question Time for seven years. He also launched and was EP of other discussion programs such as BBC1′s The Big Questions and BBC3′s Free Speech.

“With a proven track record for producing high-rated, high-impact documentaries, Steve is an excellent choice to head up our international headquarters and we’re so pleased to have him on board,” said Scott.

Anderson added: “Peacock Productions has a reputation for high-profile documentaries that capture the drama of the big events of the moment. Spearheading its global expansion and being able to call on the vast resources and talent of NBC News is a great opportunity.”
