Former Zoo Productions co-CEO Barry Poznick (pictured) is teaming up with multimedia studio Electus to launch Barracuda Television Productions.

Based in Los Angeles, the company will focus on developing unscripted programming for the domestic and international markets.

Poznick co-founded Zoo in 1994, which produced dozens of shows for networks such as NBC, MTV, TLC and CMT. His credits include Buckwild, Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader? and Family Game Night. He has also hosted OWN’s Are You Normal, America?

“Through this partnership Barracuda is powered by Electus, which provides the framework that enables us to begin selling and producing world-class content immediately,” Poznick said in a statement. “This team is so dynamic that I have no doubt we will quickly make Barracuda synonymous with great content.”

“We’re so pleased to partner with Barry in his new venture,” added Electus CEO Chris Grant. “As Electus continues to focus on high quality content for both the domestic and the global marketplace Barracuda was a must have for us.”

The partnership was brokered by Eric Wattenberg at CAA and Jeanne Newman at HJHT.
