Beyond Distribution has acquired Story House Productions’ 12-part crime series, Addicted to the Life, for international distribution.

The series combines interviews with re-enactments to tell the stories of everyday people who, through, different circumstances, fell into and became addicted to criminal activity.

“It’s a lot of fun to produce and we are really enjoying working with Beyond in the distribution process,” said Michelle Manassah, VP of production for Story House, in a statement. “They’ve been very engaged and equally excited about this glamorous yet gritty new series.”

Addicted To The Life marks a new departure in crime programming from the visual point of view – it looks fabulous, as befits the lifestyles that seduced the perpetrators,” added Yvonne Body, head of acquisitions for Beyond Distribution. “There’s a great team behind the production and although it’s our first collaboration with Story House, we have worked with some of the key creatives before and knew that they’d produce something special.”

The distributor will be bringing the series to Cannes in October as part of its MIPCOM slate.
