Alex Graham is stepping down as CEO of UK prodco Wall to Wall, with creative director Leanne Klein (pictured) stepping up to replace him.

Graham will stay on with the Shed Media Group-controlled company until the end of the year, to “help effect a handover,” the firm said in a statement. Thereafter, he will remain as an executive producer on the U.S. version of the international format Who Do You Think You Are?, which he created.

In a statement, Graham said: “I’ve had the privilege of working with Leanne for almost 20 years.  She’s the most creative television executive I know and the perfect person to build on the company’s reputation for quality, integrity and originality.”

Klein has been with Wall to Wall since 1995, having won an Emmy for directing her first series for the company, Baby It’s You. Since then she has worked on titles including Long Lost Family, Turn Back Time and The Voice UK. She became creative director in March 2011.

Shed Media Group CEO Nick Southgate said: “Leanne is a brilliant creative television executive and she has Wall to Wall running through her veins. I’m absolutely delighted she’s agreed to take over from Alex.

“Alex is one of the titans of the independent production sector, but I can’t think of anyone better to fill his large shoes. I’m extremely glad that he will remain as an EP on the U.S. version of Who Do You Think You Are?, so the company can continue to benefit from his advice and experience.”

Klein added: “There’s no production company in the UK that could be more exciting to run. I can’t wait to get started.

“On a personal level, I’ll miss Alex hugely. It’s been a privilege to work with him for almost 20 years and he’s built a fantastic business which keeps creativity at its heart – something I’ll do my very best to maintain.”

In addition to Wall to Wall, Graham serves as chair of the board of directors for UK event Sheffield Doc/Fest.
