Sky Vision moves Mandela doc

Mandela: The Struggle is My Life,  a coproduction between Sky News and Sky Vision, has pre-sold into 19 territories, including Australia, China, Brazil, and the Netherlands.

The 60-minute one-off has sold to Network 10 in Australia, CCTV in China, TVB in Hong Kong, Brazil’s GloboSat, Singapore’s MediaCorp, TVI Portugal, TV2 Norway, and TV4 in Sweden and Finland.

The doc was also picked up by TV2 Denmark, RTL Netherlands, Spektrum Television Hungary/Czech Republic, Solar News Channel in the Philippines, VRT Belgium, Channel 8 Israel, Mongolia’s Mongol TV, ViaSat Tanzania and South African broadcaster, SABC.

Mandela: The Struggle is My Life tells the story of the South African politician and activist with Sky News archive footage, interviews with Desmond Tutu, F.W. De Klerk, members of the African National Congress, and more.

In related news, Sky Vision sold recent realscreen MIPCOM Pick Royalty Close Up, a Brassneck Productions program on royal photojournalist Kent Gavin, to Foxtel and SBS in Australia, Sky TV New Zealand, Globosat and Spektrum TV Hungary/Czech Republic.

The distributor also sold Asylum Entertainment’s ob-doc series The Capones, on the descendants of Al Capone, to 365 Media Iceland and MTV3 Finland.
