Discovery Networks International (DNI) is to begin airing a survival series called Manhunt, starring ex-Navy SEAL Joel Lambert, next year.

Produced in-house by Discovery Studios, the show follows Lambert as he attempts to evade capture by elite military tracking units over the course of 48 hours.

Billed by the network as an “extreme hide-and-go-seek” series, the show was shot in the United States, Poland, South Africa, the Philippines, Panama and South Korea. Each episode begins with Lambert being dropped at a starting point. Using minimal supplies he must then reach a pre-arranged end point while being pursued by a tracking team from the country in which the episode is set.

Manhunt will debut on Discovery Channel in 224 countries and territories in February.

The executive producers on the series are Sarah Davies for DNI, and Eddie Barbini and Brian Knappmiller for Discovery Studios.
