UK pubcaster Channel 4 has commissioned London-based Tuesday’s Child Television to produce a daytime series that sees dogs and their owners take on physical challenges.

The Dog Show (working title) is a 15 x 30-minute series that follows dogs and their owners competing to win a cash prize and an appearance at Crufts, the world’s largest dog show.

The┬ácanine sports challenges include speed retrieval in water, speedball and the “dogstacle” course, which all partner dog training techniques with fun for the animals.

The Dog Show is a big entertainment event full of sporting drama and endeavor along with plenty of fun,” said Tuesday’s Child managing director, Karen Smith, who will executive produce along with Will Spokes.

“We’re excited to create this new format that celebrates the British public’s love and respect for our canine companions,” added Sagina Shabaya, C4′s commissioning editor for daytime and off-peak.
