Zodiak Rights has licensed the Killer Karaoke format to broadcasters in Vietnam, Cambodia and the Philippines, while Thailand has signed up for a second season of its local version.

Zodiak Media’s comedic reality format, in which contestants endure ridiculous obstacles as they attempt to sing, will be produced by BHD in Vietnam for VTV3, which will air it later this year.

Elsewhere, Hang Meas HDTV will produce and air a local Cambodian version of Killer Karaoke, marking the first format deal for Zodiak Rights in the territory. The multi-season program will air in 2014.

TV5 in the Philippines has signed up for a 12-part series, to be hosted by local comedian Michael V, while Thai broadcaster MCOT has tapped local producer Heliconia to produce a second season of its 24 x 60-minute version. Production will begin next year.

All the deals were brokered by Naomi Koh, VP of sales for Zodiak Rights.
