London-based producer-distributor E2 Films has acquired the UK rights to Palestinian filmmaker Mahdi Fleifel’s doc A World Not Ours.

The documentary, which received the peace film award at the Berlin International Film Festival and best international film at the Edinburgh Film Festival, is a portrait of three generations of Fleifel’s family who are living in exile in southern Lebanon’s Ein el-Helweh refugee camp.

Fleifel grew up in the camp in the 1980′s before his family settled in Denmark. He returned over many years to keep a video diary, which is featured in the film.

E2 has previously handled docs such as Blank City, Killing Oswald and Cinema Komunisto.
