TLC UK has tapped Geordie Shore star Charlotte Crosby (pictured) for an as-yet-untitled reality series that will introduce her to the world’s most extreme cultures.

Each week, Crosby will meet a new community and learn its customs and values, all while navigating the culture shock of these experiences. The 4 x 60-minutes series will kick off with the Celebrity Big Brother 2013 winner – who once asked whether one uses Euros in London – meeting the geisha-like Furisode ladies of Tokyo.

TLC launched in the UK and Ireland in April 2013, focusing on fashion, family life, little known communities and amazing people and cultures. The new series, which will air on the channel this spring, is being produced by indie start-up Rumpus Media.

“Known for her unabashed frankness and party-hard antics, Charlotte has shot to fame as an exciting, unpredictable and original talent,” said Sarah Thornton, VP of lifestyle production and development at TLC UK. “It is with great pleasure that we welcome her to TLC, the home of talk about TV, for an unmissable series that pinches the best bits of reality, travel and documentary genres.”
