Irish company Sideline Productions, which makes its Realscreen Summit debut this week, has landed its first commission from UK broadcaster Channel 5, for documentary series Great British Castles.

The 6 x 50-minute series will explore the secrets and histories behind some of Britain’s most popular castles, looking at their infamous inhabitants and battles. The program, hosted by journalist Dan Jones (pictured above), will also use aerial footage, CGI and reconstructions.

The series will be coproduced with GroupM Entertainment and will begin production this spring. Sideline creative director Billy McGrath will be at the Realscreen Summit from today (January 26) to  Tuesday (January 28).
