Core Media Group has partnered with female lifestyle media company Popsugar for a development and distribution pact covering both unscripted and scripted projects for the web and TV.

Core Media Group has partnered with female lifestyle media company Popsugar for a development and distribution pact covering both unscripted and scripted projects for the web and TV.

The content that will come out of the agreement will target women aged 18-40 and will be distributed across broadcast, cable and online.

Jen O’Connell, head of U.S. television for Core Media Group, and her team will work alongside the Popsugar team to create content specifically for the web, and in turn all of Popsugar’s existing content will be considered for television.

The two companies will also develop shows that can launch on Popsugar’s properties before heading to cable or broadcast.

Core Media Group – which has a portfolio that includes American Idol prodco 19 Entertainment and Sharp Entertainment – will manage the joint television projects, while Popsugar, which owns entertainment and lifestyle hub Popsugar.com, will manage the online joint projects.
