U.S. net Nat Geo Wild is to follow the building of SeaWorld Orlando’s ambitious penguin habitat in one-hour specialĀ Building Penguin Paradise (pictured), which premieres March 2.

The program will look at the engineering feats necessary to build Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin, the Florida park’s largest enclosure for its 200-plus penguins, which featuresĀ 45-foot-high icebergs, a family adventure ride, and culinary and retail shops.

The special, which covers the building of the 18-month project, will highlight footage of ice-formation carving, and the installation of a viewing window which weighs as much as a school bus.

Building Penguin Paradise is produced by Arrow Media, and exec produced by Tom Brisley, Nick Metcalfe and Janet Han Vissering.
