RTL Group-owned FremantleMedia has appointed former SBS executive Dave Heuten (pictured) as co-managing director of the company’s production arm in Belgium, overseeing the development and sales of FremantleMedia formats in the Belgian market across all platforms.

Heuten will work alongside Stefan De Keyser, who will lead day-to-day operations and commercial ventures. Both managing directors will report to FremantleMedia CEO Cecile Frot-Coutaz.

Heuten, who will replace Kristine Willems, was previously program manager and head of formats at SBS Belgium. Prior to this, he served as executive line producer at Zodiak, responsible for format development, acquisitions, and overseeing content development, sales and productions for series such as Peking Express and India Celebrity Express.

Heuten has also worked as program director at Vitaya & Vitaliteit and as head of format development and acquisitions at D&D Media Group.

“Dave’s extensive knowledge of the global format market, together with his impressive creative track record and his passion for program making will complement Stefan’s strong operational and commercial knowledge and experience,” said Frot-Coutaz in a statement.
