Producer Nutopia is developing a European version of its The Story of Us format with Germany’s ZDF Enterprises.

The distributor will launch Europe: The Story of Us at the Impact Media Summit in Turin, Italy next week. Producers are also looking for international coproduction partners.

The episodic docuseries will recount the history of the European continent through dramatic re-enactments, CGI, and interviews with key figures.

The global version, Mankind: The Story of All of Us (pictured above), has aired in more than 150 territories and last October, Australian broadcaster Seven commissioned a local version of the format to be produced by Essential Media & Entertainment.

The U.S. version, America: The Story of Us, aired on cable network History in 2010.
