U.S. net TLC is setting the stage for actor Leah Remini (pictured), who is to star in an as-yet-untitled reality series produced by Duck Dynasty firm Gurney Entertainment.

Known for her role on sitcom King of Queens, Remini has achieved success in Hollywood, but still holds on to her Brooklyn roots, the network said. The 12 x 30-minute series, which is now in production, will focus on Remini and her colorful family members and professional team as they help her balance her busy life in Los Angeles.

“Leah is a no-nonsense, hard-working, relatable mom, wife, daughter and sister,” said Nancy Daniels, general manager of TLC. “Her sharp humor and unfiltered family are a perfect match for the network. This series continues our focus on creating compelling series about remarkable families, using heart and humor to anchor it to the TLC brand.”

The series is being produced by Gurney Productions, and is due to premiere on TLC this summer.
